Intro

Cleango is a cleaning company with a software mindset: book online, manage every visit from one account, get the same vetted team each time. By 2024 it served homes and offices in 14 US cities — but its website didn't show up where those customers actually search.

Nobody googles “cleaning company”. They google “house cleaning Brickell” or “office cleaning Edina”. We rebuilt Cleango's site in Webflow as a system that answers each of those searches with a real, local page — and moved it to a new domain without starting from zero.

What the rebuild delivered:

  • 324 live pages generated from a handful of CMS templates
  • Top 3 on Google for core local searches
  • 101 Miami neighbourhood pages from a single template

Meet Cleango

Cleango started in 2013 as Maid Masters, a Minneapolis cleaning company Roman Peysakhovich founded out of frustration with the local options. It grew into Onedesk, then rebranded as Cleango in 2020 to focus entirely on cleaning.

Today it covers residential and commercial work — recurring home cleans, deep cleans, move-outs, Airbnb turnovers, daily office janitorial — with online booking, a personal manager for business clients and a network of vetted local teams.

The Cleango team

The challenge we tackled

Local search, one page at a time

Every city, county and neighbourhood Cleango serves is its own search. Ranking for them takes a dedicated, genuinely local page for each — hundreds of them, not a dozen.

A domain change on the way

The company was moving to bookcleango.com. Done carelessly, a domain move resets years of search history overnight.

Two very different buyers

Homeowners want a price and a time slot now. Office managers want a quote, a walkthrough and a named contact. The site had to serve both without mixing them up.

Growth without developers

New areas launch often. The team needed to add a city or a neighbourhood in an afternoon, not in a sprint.

We open new areas faster than most agencies can scope a page. Now a new neighbourhood is a CMS entry, not a project — and it shows up on Google where our customers look.

Our approach

01Map the searches, then the site

We started from how Cleango's customers search — service, city, county, neighbourhood — and turned that into the URL structure and the CMS collections before building a single page.

02One template per page family

Services, city pages, Minnesota counties and Miami neighbourhoods each got one template fed by a CMS collection. Local fields — name, phone number, intro, nearby areas — make every page genuinely local; reviews, services and FAQs stay shared.

03Move the domain by the book

Every old URL got a destination in a redirect map before launch, the 301s went live together with the new sitemap, and we watched coverage and rankings until the new domain settled.

04Booking one click from any page

Homeowners get a price calculator and instant booking embedded in the site; offices get a quote flow that ends with a personal manager. Both are reachable from every page.

How one template becomes 101 neighbourhood pages
Nobody searches for a cleaning company. They search for a cleaner in Brickell. So we stopped designing pages and designed the system that makes them.

Moving to bookcleango.com

A domain move is the one week in a site's life where a small mistake costs years of search history. We treated it as its own project, with a checklist for every stage.

  1. 01

    Inventory

    • Crawl the old site
    • Export every indexed URL
    • Flag pages with links and traffic
  2. 02

    Redirect map

    • A destination for every old URL
    • 1:1 where the page survives
    • Retired pages → closest parent
  3. 03

    Launch

    • 301s live with the new domain
    • New sitemap submitted
    • Search Console updated
  4. 04

    Watch

    • 404 and coverage checks
    • Core local rankings
    • Stragglers fixed fast
The rule for the whole move: no old URL left to 404, and none dumped on the homepage — search engines were told exactly where each page went.

From search to booking

Every page leads to one of two paths, depending on who is searching. Homeowners can price and book a clean without talking to anyone; businesses get a quote and a named contact.

The results

Today bookcleango.com carries 324 pages in its sitemap, all on the same structure, and Cleango ranks in Google's top three for its core local searches.

Summary

Local SEO at this scale isn't a content problem, it's an architecture problem. Once the searches were mapped to collections and templates, adding a city or a neighbourhood stopped being a project.

Cleango's team now launches new areas from the Webflow CMS, and the domain move — the riskiest week of the project — went out with a destination for every old URL.
